....and starting to feel a bit more normal, now. Ok, so jet lag - what's that all about? I either conk-out at three in the afternoon, or wake at 5 in the morning, as bright as a button! The rest of the time, I'm like a zombie! Ok, so it's day 3 and I'm starting to feel normal again - sure I woke at 5am again today, but made myself stay in bed till 7.30am and am determined not to have a siesta this afternoon. We've a great apartment; it's one of those holiday type places, with a kitchen/living room, bedroom and bathroom; small, simple, but ample for the next few weeks until we find somewhere a little more permanent; we've already started looking, but most places are shut for the holidays, so we're unlikely to make much real progress until the start of January. Saying that, it looks like there are quite a few places available, which is encouraging.
Ok, it's Christmas!!! The TV (which is shockingly poor!), is full of adverts for BBQs, inflatable stuff for the pool and Asian Santas (don't ask me); the plan for the big day is to take turkey and stuffing sandwiches, mince pies and a decent bottle of plonk up to the Opera House for a picnic. The Royal Botanic Gardens are next door, so if it's too hot (more of that in a mo), we can see if we can find some shade and try and blend in with the locals!
As promised, we sorted out a Christmas tree within 12 hours of arriving! It's nothing compared to our usual standard, but it's a start.
So, the weather....ok, it's warm, but to be honest we've had a couple of cloudy/showery days. Our first day here was blisteringly sunny (and we subsequently burnt our baldy heads a bit - well, we are British!), but since then it's been a bit overcast; not to worry, tho - tomorrow (Xmas day) is supposed to be sunny and about 22 degrees - nice!
