Are you sitting down? Well...the visas have been granted! Can you believe it? After waiting 3 months, we finally have visas! OK, the next question - when are we off down under? Well, that's the 20th December - eeek!

So, the next few weeks are going to be spent frantically packing stuff up and throwing stuff away (where does all this junk come from?) .

All in all, exciting times ahead....:-)

Is this progress?

This sounds frighteningly like progress, but I've been told that we're going to find out about the visas early next week. It seems recent changes to immigration rules have caused a backlog, but our case is nearing the top of the pile. Hold on to your hats - the wait could soon be over!

Baby Steps...

Ok, at the risk of sounding optimistic, I have news on the Visas. Before you get the flags out for out departure, it's not THE news that we're waiting for, but nearly....It seems that our case was assigned a Case Officer on 30th October and while it can take up to a month for the visas to be approved, it usually takes about a week - that makes a possible date of tomorrow!

Not to get anyone's hopes up, though, I've heard that because of a surge in applications recently, government changes and mooted alterations to the immigration laws, it's still anyone's guess when our case will be resolved.

Anyway, I'm taking these baby steps as good news that at least the case isn't just floating about (probably sunning itself on Bondi Beach, where I should be!) ;-)
